For the third year in a row, JMS took part in the Salvation Army’s Adopt A Family program. The program matches local needy families with individual or business sponsors who are able to provide them with their holiday gifts wishes. The Adopt A Family program has grown significantly through the last several years due to the generosity of donors throughout the state. 179 families were adopted in 2013, which increased to 533 adopted families in 2015.
This year, JMS was matched with three families from the Somerville and Bound Brook area. JMS environmental scientists, managers, and LSRPs came together to donate clothing, toys, and necessities for the 18 total family members. JMS also provided each family with Target and ShopRite gifts cards. All of the gifts were loaded into the JMS “sleigh” and dropped off at the Bound Brook Salvation Army on December 12.
JMS is thankful to help the program grow, and looks forward to participating next year. The Adopt A Family program is a fun way to give back to the community and help brighten the holiday season for a family in need.
