For the second year now, JMS teamed up with the Salvation Army to spread some holiday cheer to those less fortunate than us.
Kelly Jackson, a Project Manager with JMS, coordinated the effort with the Salvation Army. We received a few more requests this year than last (16 total family members from 3 families). All of these families struggle with the holidays as they are barely making ends meet. JMS was happy to provide some assistance to family’s in the following situations:
Family 1 – The Father lost his job and is working at temp agency until he can find permanent work.
Family 2 – A single mother with 5 children.
Family 3 – A single mother caring for 6 children.
Scientists and staff members from JMS volunteered to donate clothing, necessities and toy like baby einstein 3 months toys for individual family members. These kind of toys can help children’s cognitive and physical abilities. The gifts piled in and almost overwhelmed Kelly’s desk.
In addition JMS donated a ShopRite gift card for each family.
Kelly loaded all of the goods into her sleigh (car) and dropped them off at the Bound Brook Salvation Army on December 11. Thank you to Kelly Jackson for organizing this great event and to the entire JMS team for pitching in.
