JMS Adopts Three Families through the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family Program

Posted on January 4th, 2019

For the fifth year in a row, JMS participated in Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program. The program pairs impoverished families with individual or business sponsors who are able to provide the families with gifts for the holidays. The Adopt-A-Family program has grown significantly through the last several years due to the generosity of donors throughout the state of New Jersey. In 2013, 179 families were adopted, which increased to 602 adopted families in 2018.

This year, JMS was matched with three families from the Somerville and Bound Brook area. JMS environmental scientists, managers, and LSRPs came together to donate clothing, toys, gift cards, and necessities for the 14 total family members. JMS also provided each family with ShopRite gift cards to ensure a wonderful meal to celebrate the holiday. All of the gifts were loaded into the JMS “sleigh” and dropped off at the Bound Brook Salvation Army.

JMS is thankful to help the program grow and looks forward to participating next year. The Adopt-A-Family program is a fun way to give back to the community and help brighten the holiday season for families in need.
