On December 1, 2106, JM Sorge, Inc. received the 2016 RideWise Silver Award for outstanding achievement in creating programs that provide and promote commuting options for employees. The award was presented by Ms. Donna Alison, RideWise Executive Director and Mr. Christopher King, RideWise Chairman, at the RideWise Recognition Breakfast held at the Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Mr. Stephen Kehayes of JMS attended the RideWise Recognition Breakfast to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award.
For the second year in a row JMS was awarded Silver status in the NJ Smart Workplace program, which recognizes companies that provide excellent commuter services. JMS is proudly committed to sustainability and improving the quality of life for our staff, and offers amenities such as bicycle parking areas and on-site showering facilities for employees who commute to work by alternative means.
RideWise, the source for sustainable travel alternatives in Somerset County, is an independent, 501(c)3 organization that is funded through grants from the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, NJ TRANSIT, United Way of Northern New Jersey and other donations and small grants. RideWise is one of New Jersey’s eight designated transportation management associations (TMA) and the program is sponsored by the Transportation Management Association Council of New Jersey. The governing Board of Directors is made up of representatives from the public and private sector.
The agency’s mission is to develop sustainable travel alternatives that help to improve mobility, reduce traffic and decrease carbon emissions. RideWise serves the greater Somerset County area and shares office space with the Somerset County Business Partnership in Bridgewater.
